There are two types of people in the world. People of faith and people of fear. And I suppose a case could be made for a third type, that is, People of Faith who act like People of Fear.
· People of Faith speak to mountains and move them out of the way. It is recorded in Mark 11:23, Jesus said, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
· People of Fear call the mountains down on themselves. Jesus also said in Luke 23:29-30, “For indeed the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, wombs that never bore, and breasts which never nursed!’ Then "'they will say to the mountains, "Fall on us!" and to the hills, "Cover us!"'
Today on social media, on television, in conversations with people everywhere, even in churches, there are so many people making comments that are soaked in defeat and empowered by fear. God did not give us a spirit of fear. He gave us a spirit of Love, power, and a sound mind. Paul writing to Pastor Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7, Amplified Version, said, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].” God has never failed me... and He never will! The price paid on the cross is enough. His Grace is more than sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). My enemies ultimately have the same power over me that they have over God... None!
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us].” Romans 8:37 AMP
What we say about our future is what we believe about our future. From the abundance of our hearts, our mouths speak. Jesus said in Luke 6:45 NIV, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” What do I believe? I believe the future is bright! I believe and I’m not afraid to say it.
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak…2 Corinthians 4:13
It’s time people of faith stop complaining in the desert as the Israelites did, prolonging their suffering and invoking the wrath of God, by proclaiming “evil” reports. (Numbers 13:32, Deuteronomy 9:7) and be mindful of the direction our words are taking us.
James 3: 2-10 “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” Let me give you an example of how I start my day out...
Every morning I wake up, open my eyes, look in the mirror, point at myself and say, “God is in that man!
As I am getting ready for work, I began to profess out loud – to be honest, I shout (and my dogs get all excited and join in! Well? Even they know the sound of faith!) -- “The wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous! (Ecclesiastes 2:26). This year is going to be an amazing year! This is going to be the best year of my life! Every day, I grow closer to God! Every day God is bigger in me than the day before! The enemies of God’s people have been wounded, and they are bleeding out. They will fall at my right hand! (Psalm 91:7). Every wicked scheme will be exposed. No man will stand before me all the days of my life! As God was with Moses, as He was with Joshua, as He was with Jesus, so He IS WITH ME! (Joshua 1:5) God has commanded me (Joshua 1:9) to fear not, because He is with me! Covid 19 cannot touch me! (Psalm 91:10). Poverty and lack are defeated in my life! (Luke 4:18). And Christ in me -- that is my confident expectation of God’s manifest presence in my life! (Colossians 1:27). With Christ, I am seated far above all that is happening around me. (Ephesians 1:21 - 2:6) There is nothing impossible that I can’t believe for (Mark 9:23) and there is nothing I cannot accomplish in Christ! (Philippians 4:19)” Oh, People of Faith, what did God say? He said...
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." -- Isaiah 41:10
Align your beliefs to the Word of God and align your tongue with your beliefs in 2021. This will be the best year of your life!
